Following are the three websites which really helped me a lot in many ways. For buying a car, looking for apartments, looking for roommates, buying and selling stuffs, and many more things:
1) Craigslist is a central network of online communities, featuring free online classified advertisements (with jobs, internships, housing, personals, erotic services, for sale/barter/wanted, services, community, gigs, resume, and pets categories) and forums on various topics.

2) Sulekha.com connects Indians worldwide. Have almost the same features like craigslist, the key difference here is it’s majorly dedicated for Indian.

3) Uloop is a portal started my UMD students which gives you information about different job openings, apartment, roommates, buy and sell stuffs etc. You need a UMD account to register in this website.
